Components of apartment doors (receiving the apartment from the developer)

Let's start the door inspection by familiarizing ourselves with their components.

The images below show them. Once we know what we are talking about, we can proceed to the topic of the inspection.

 

During the inspection, let's start by checking the doors from the outside of the apartment.

Check:

- mechanical damage and dirt (doors as well as the frame, handle)

- correctness of the portal installation (is it level, are there no unsightly gaps between the components)

- whether the lock closes without issues (close and open the door with the key a few times)

- locking with the handle, whether the door bounces back

- open the door and check if it closes by itself (if so, it may be unevenly fitted)

 

Enter the apartment and check:

- whether there is a threshold and whether it is undamaged

- whether the threshold is equipped with a seal

- whether there is a seal mounted around the entire perimeter of the frame contact with the door leaf

- condition of the seals

- damage and dirt from the inside of the apartment (door leaf, frame, and all components)

- peephole

 

The doors must be undamaged, clean, evenly fitted, and complete. Any deviation from this condition should be recorded in the inspection protocol.
